Traditionally dosa is prepared from fermented batter, but I share an instant dosa recipe that is prepared from rice flour, rava, and regular spices. I also share a slightly spicy peanut chutney recipe, which tastes great with dosa.
Instant rice flour is neutral in taste and binds liquids well. Its qualities make it suitable not only for preparing single-varietal rice only porridges but for numerous other uses. You can easily combine it with Nominal corn flake crumbs and use it in breadings when frying meat, vegetables, champignons or cheeses.
Rava dosa made with semolina (sooji) is a nice alternative to rice based dosas. Especially so if crispiness is preferred as Rava dosas can beat the classic dosa anytime.
Health benefits. Those with wheat allergies or gluten intolerance will find the dosa a nice addition to their diets. Instant dosa mix provides a balanced combination of carbohydrate ( rice) and protein( lentils) and hence helps in preparing a quick and healthy meal.
Nutrition wise dosa is better than roti since the batter is a combination of rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds. Roti is just wheat flour and water.
